Mikayla has been in the hospital more than 100 times. And she’s only 13. Born with sickle cell disease, a disease that primarily affects people of African descent, Mikayla endures severe pain, infections and even strokes.
At just 3 years old, Cullen Cisneros faced leukemia. He eventually recovered and went on to enjoy simply being a kid. In 2020, Cullen, then 11, was diagnosed with an entirely different cancer than he had had previously: Ewing’s Sarcoma.

The 29th annual Great Clips cut-a-thon will take place from Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, through Friday, Sept. 2, 2022. Great Clips salons are donating a portion of proceeds from each haircut to support the school re-entry program at Children’s Minnesota. This program helps kids with cancer and other serious illnesses go back to school with confidence.

The mission of the Pine Tree Apple Tennis Classic (PTATC) is to host an annual mixed doubles tennis tournament to raise funds that primarily support research to lessen the suffering caused by childhood cancer. Funds raised benefit the cancer research program at Children’s Minnesota.
