Jim Leste to depart Children’s Minnesota after 25 years of service

After 25 years of dedicated service, Jim Leste, our Vice President of Operations, is leaving Children’s Minnesota effective July 19th to pursue an exciting new opportunity as Chief Administrative Officer at The University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital.

Children’s Minnesota is pleased to announce Minnesota Senators Alice Mann and Kelly Morrison are the 2024 recipients of the Children’s Health Hero Award. Both recipients are physicians who bring their health care expertise to their role at the state Capitol. The annual award recognizes elected officials for their commitment in championing issues vital to kids’ health at the Minnesota Capitol.

Children’s Minnesota nurse staffing update

Our number one priority at Children’s Minnesota is to provide safe, high-quality care for our patients and families. As you may have heard recently, Children’s Minnesota is negotiating a new contract with the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA). The MNA organized a strike from Sept. 12 until Sept. 15, 2022, at 7 a.m. During that time, Children’s Minnesota services continued with qualified, licensed staff.

If your child is on one of these machines, your provider will be communicating directly with you via MyChildren's portal on their recommendation based on your child’s specific circumstances.
