MHA honors Children’s Minnesota marketing and communications VP with Retention and Resiliency award

Hillery Shay, vice president of marketing and communications at Children’s Minnesota, has received a 2024 Workforce Team Leadership award in the category of Retention and Resiliency from the Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA). Hillery is one of 40 hospital and health systems teams and individuals from across Minnesota recognized by MHA for their efforts to bolster the health care workforce and improve quality and safety.

Hillery was honored for starting a mentorship program for female leaders of color at Children’s Minnesota. She began the group as a space for members to join together monthly to learn, grow and support each other as they navigate the challenges of being a leader of color.

The awards were presented May 14 at MHA’s Where Disciplines Meet: Putting Patients First conference.
