Children’s Minnesota sleep center receives re-accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (May 14, 2024) — Children’s Minnesota is pleased to announce that its sleep center has been re-accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The center was officially re-accredited on April 26, 2024, for five years.

“Re-accreditation through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) is a testament to our continued excellent standard of care that we provide to all patient’s that come through the Children’s Minnesota sleep center,” said Dr. Yosef Wexler, medical director of the sleep center. “As one of the first pediatric sleep centers in the country to be accredited by the AASM, we are thrilled to once again receive their stamp of approval.”

The Children’s Minnesota sleep center is located on the organization’s St. Paul campus and is one of only a few pediatric-centered programs in the region. The center treats all pediatric sleep disorders in infants, children and adolescents, some of which include difficulties falling asleep and staying asleep, sleep disorder breathing or obstructive sleep apnea, and circadian rhythm disorders.

The sleep lab provides child and family focused care by specially trained pediatric sleep technologists with state-of-the-art equipment for pediatric sleep studies. The team of sleep center Kid Experts includes board-certified physicians, an advanced practice registered nurse, clinical psychologists, registered nurses, and sleep technologists.
