The social work screening section of selected Admission forms have been updated to achieve clarity regarding the status of the patient’s Health Care Directive and to meet regulatory requirements.
The question for screening patients who may have received health care outside of the United States has been updated. If Yes is selected, further documentation is required.
A new initiative allows Hospitalists (floor or ED-IP) to place phased admission powerplan orders for a patient prior to their transfer from the ED. Inpatient RNs in the MedSurg, Limited Stay, and ICC units can initiate pre-planned admission orders and provide continuity of care for the patient.

Two new PowerPlans: GT/GJ Post Op and Maintenance (used for Pediatrics, CVICU, and PICU) and Neonatal GT/GJ Post Op and Maintenance have been created to streamline the process of post-operative care, feeding, and maintenance for patients with newly placed Gastrostomy or Jejunostomy tubes.
