Medication orders can skip administration of the next dose. This is to prevent dangerous duplicate dosing with first dose medication scheduling.
The ability to skip administration of the next dose is available for the provider using:
a. Select Review Schedule
Or
b. Select Requested StartDate/Time to view the Detail values and adjust the next administration
Note: Selecting the Skip Administration box will assure the next dose is timed appropriately.
Once the order is entered, the red exclamation icon indicates the ability to skip a dose is available and should be assessed.
